It's Tinka Time Again!
DEF’s Tinka Looney Golf Classic set for Oct. 28th
Mild temperatures and sunny skies are predicted for everyone’s favorite annual golf tournament and fundraiser: the 19th Annual Tinka Looney Memorial Golf Classic.
Hosted by the Denison Education Foundation, the October 28th four-man scramble at Denison Country Club (golfers can put their own teams together if they wish) benefits all current and future DISD school children through DEF grants and scholarships. Registration starts at 9 a.m. followed by a 10 a.m. shotgun start. Organizers say the entry fee is still only $125 and includes a fun-filled day of golf, lunch, great raffle items, individual contests prizes and a $50,000 Hole-In-One prize.
“The great majority of our golfers traditionally sign up to play this week, so please go to www.denisonisd.net or call 903-462-7050 to or to be a sponsor, ” said Matt Looney, whose late mother established the core mission for today’s Denison Education Foundation. “Weather forecasters are predicting near-perfect weather, so we’re expecting a huge turnout of golfers. A lot of new sponsors have also joined our core group of long-time sponsors. We’re just extremely thankful for all the support. We’re looking forward to a great day of golf, benefiting an even greater cause.”
